Rays of hope in ways of humanity

I was one of the founder trustees, the framer of Constitution and Chairman of the first Board of the local NGO – “The Guardian Trust, Kanodar”. I worked for first seven years in team spirit with my fellow trustees to achieve the goals of the Trust and now I am retired. Here, I am pleased to disclose one of the objects of the Trust which will be self explanatory to my Readers and particularly those NRIs and PRs of Kanodar residing elsewhere representing young generation to know about this village, its community, its culture and many other aspects of its heritage descending from the ancestors for the last half millennium since the foundation of this village by Kaano (Kanji) Patel whose name reflects in the word ‘KANODAR’.

The text of the above referred object of the Trust is as follows:

”The Mo’mineen (Muslims) of Kanodar have spread all over the world with their own identity that they live with love with others, accept others with their differences and make their contributions in their social lives wherever they live. This Trust will encourage the individuals and various organizations of this peculiar community to continue to set an example to other communities to respect everybody’s dignity and rights and to carry out social responsibilities for the common good of people.”

To build up integrity and reputation of the village, many honorable personalities have contributed in past; and present leadership also is on the same track walking on the footprints of the former devoted Chiefs. This Article is aimed to remind the new generation the culture and traditions of the community, inspire them to preserve the image of this village intact with good behavior and pass on the same heritage to the next generation by providing the live examples to them. During my life span of almost seven decades, I have been the witness of the hundreds of those local heroes who have devoted their most of time to uplift the village to higher summits of its fame. Due to my limitation to the size of the Article, I am unable to highlight the services of all those ever shining stars in detail.

But, I would like to bring out in knowledge some opinions of other people about this village of Kanodar in order to mention in general its integrity, peace and prosperity. Most of the people may be familiar with the name of Swami Sachchidanand. He is a Karmyogi Saint of Gujarat engaged in social, literary and spiritual activities. Some years past, he was invited to the opening ceremony of the local High School for its starting of Science stream. Swamiji had never visited this village but while on his way from Petlad to Kanodar, he was given some briefs and feedbacks about the village. Endowed with sharp intellect, spirituality and own intuition, he knew everything about the village and its people as if he had visited the village previously and lived here. While delivering his speech he said, “If the Lahore Conference for the discussion of partition of India would have been organized at Kanodar, India would have remained united.” These words are the best compliments to the village and at the same time making conscious to the natives of Kanodar to remain firm and deserving for the preservation of conception of integrity of not only our village, bur wherever we live. Generally, Swamiji was being honored with donation to his Ashram wherever he was invited, but here he donated Rs.25,000/- to the High School from the funds of his own Trust.

If we go to some past, the memories of Dr. H. L.Purohit, a Maharashtriyan Brahmin and Dwarkagiri Maharaj, a gymnastic practicing Saint (અખાડા સાધુ) from U.P. (India) will surely revive into our minds. Dr. Purohit as a Physician rendered his services to the local Hospital for about 33 years and Dwatkagiri Maharaj as a worshipper of the local Temple of Shiva; but mainly with his social services, had devoted his whole life for the welfare of the village. Both these personalities had so high opinions as well as feelings for this village that they wished to have their last breaths here and get their funeral services in the earth of this village. Dr. Purohit was not fortunate in this regard as his offspring called him at his native place Baroda after retirement, but Bapji breathed his last here and was buried in the position of Samadhi in the premises of the temple. They both, having their Hindu creed, told emotionally in public that if the God gave them rebirth in any form, they would prefer to be here not only once but again and again. These words are the great rewards to the local Muslim community and also strong enough to bring tears of gratitude into our eyes.

There is no room for remembering the specific contributions of numerous Muslims (both male and female) here in this precise Article; but in general, I may say that they people remained rays of hope in ways of humanity. They people laid a firm foundation of Secularism and Unity in the village. It is a fitting time to recall all these memories in the prevailing situation everywhere in world when violence in various forms has risen high and universal peace is thrown in danger.

As mentioned in my earlier Article “A full circle swallowed 22 years”, the new generation of the village has spread over all continents of the world to meet with their financial needs. We should thank God that He has been kind and merciful to lead the world think broadly for globalization and liberalization and thus windows of settling abroad have opened. As a result, hundreds of youths with their spouse and offspring have migrated elsewhere in the world. This old man (me) thinks by heart that all these youngsters are the representatives of our secular village of Kanodar, Gandhiji’s Gujarat and our great country, India to spread the mission of Universal brotherhood and peace.

I would just remind, to all NRIs and PRs residing elsewhere in world who are natives of Kanodar and in wider sense to say any human wherever it lives, the story of migration of Zoroastrians (Parsis) during 18th century from Iran to harbor of Sanjaanaa in Gujarat (India). They had assured the ruler of Gujarat then that they will mix up with local people as sugar mixes in milk. My brothers and sisters, we know the exemplary role played by these Parsis such as Jamshedji Tata, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Homi Jehangir Bhabha in the progress of India. You have to awaken and mobilize the people with whom you happen to come in contact as a neighbor, a co-worker, a businessman or in any other status with mission of secular ideology, feelings of mutual co-operation and motto of ‘Live and Let Live” of ‘Sarvoadaya-ism’ founded by Vinoba Bhave and Jay Prakash Narayana.

While nearing to sum up my Article, I’ll quote somebody’s experience from unknown source in the words as “When I was running in the pouring rain, without an umbrella, wearing a spiffy suit, on my way to a meeting, a kind lady (a stranger) offered me her umbrella, gave me her address, and trusted I would return it when the rain died down.” This is a very little weighing episode, but a heavy and hidden sense lies therein. Here is the importance of mutual trust, not the cost of umbrella. One should take such affordable risks to be helpful to others to make the foundation of trust with human to human strong and I am sure it will not go in vain.

Summing up, we should remember that hate can never be ceased by hate. Let us renew and spread our hope in humanity. If we are going to err, let us err on the positive side of compassion, generosity and tolerance.

    Human Faith is a religious of God (Rab) of humanity (Rabi). The definition of humanity (Rabi) in our faith is the quality of being humane and respectful for life. The Nine Affirmations of human faith are the commandment of God (Rab) of Humanity (Rabi). The crime against the Nine Affirmations is blasphemy and great disrespect for our God (Rab) of humanity (Rabi).
    Human Faith is heavenly light of knowledge restriction on sacred light is eclipse on humanity and blasphemy.
    1. We believe all people are entitled to freedom, peace and justice. We will do all that we can to see these rights are promoted and protected in the current century.
    2. We believe any kind of negative discrimination such as racism, sexism and religious persecution are crimes against humanity. We cannot endorse sole progression of man from animal as it rejects spiritual evolution. We will respect all human kind.
    3. We believe in freedom of the press and object to media censorship. We believe we have the responsibility to stay informed and the right to have resources for this available without restrictions.
    4. We reject war, terrorism and arms build ups as they are plagues on mankind and the environment.
    5. We support and encourage efforts to preserve and protect the environment. Air and water pollution, unbridled harvesting of fossil fuels and loss of habitat need to be stopped. We are commit to do our part by recycling and curbing wasteful habits. We recognize our responsibility to future generations in this regard.
    6. We believe we must provide education worldwide in health and family planning. We must foster respect for life and accept responsibility for the offspring we create. Programs facilitating border less adoptions need to be encouraged.
    7. We believe everyone is entitled to a good quality of life including clean water and air, energy availability for home and commerce and a healthy diet. Every nation and its leaders must be accountable that these needs are met.
    8. We will respect all life including animal rights and insist on their protection and humane treatment in food preparation entertainment and sports.
    9. We are honest in all our dealings and we respect the dignity of others. We will instill these beliefs in our children in order to promote happiness and peace.
    Human faith religion starts from the premise of humanity which is more than a physical face and biological organism. It is the religious consciousness in which matter of human soul is in the prison camp of human body. It is a wisdom that can only be obtained from the nature of God (Rab). It is a stage of awareness where purity of living in the physical senses without bias. Human faith is the last stage of human evolution. The fundamental links in our spiritual and material evolution that changed us from violent to sober human being is the element of love . We know this element of love was created before the universe for human evolution and it can not be separated from the soul .True love (Rabi) is part of human soul in which strong devotion is created for another soul in environment where matter meet for human evolution . This element is not part of sexual desire nor matter of modernizations symbols of “Holy Pleasure” neither romance. This power of love is to teach respect of humanity .It is the power that controls the universe. When a baby cries the power of love force mother to nurse the baby. This is the same force when chicks open their eyes in the egg shell the same element forces them to use the beak to break the shell and fallow the mother nature. Human faith religious is a public school for humanity (Rabi) .The leisure of learning truth, honesty and freedom. It is the eminent brain (Rabi) for batter society and the library of knowledge. It is the sacred water of life that emerges with the seven colors of human diversity to dissolve racism. Human life is spiritual force of affirmations in which nine sisters are the museum of humanity (Rabi). It is the religious in which muses is dedicated to the nine affirmation of human faith. The new principle in genetic segregation can grow better sex, height and color but with natural theological law of dominance can produce better psyche. Protein structure in human genes are playing vital important role for evolution from the beginning of the human faith of Adam for humanity. It is supernatural activity of chemical mutation based on theology. The rule of nature has shown better result for the offspring we create with the family values that are based on some kind of theology.

    The posture of humanity (Rabi) needs direction of love (Rabi) to cure qualm and hate hypocrisy from monotheism and polytheism. The zeal of humanity is to diminish symbolism to prevail freedom from labyrinth ideologies of religious and political leaders for peace. We all human beings are the heart of humanity (Rabi) in which human faith religious is the xylem to dissolve distastefulness from monotheistic and polytheistic faiths. Humanity (Rabi) is theological evolution and logical process of supernatural system of Supreme Being, the theory of human faith religious is philosophy to evolve that human embryology is theological evolution and consciousness of supreme power (Rab). Human faith teaches not only moral values it can give realistic purpose of achieving complete fulfillment of internal life. The spiritual change from loneness to loveliness is based on love by giving unlimited trust in God (Rab). Human mind is miracle of Supreme Being when we struggle to boil it at luck warm temperature of wisdom to understand fundamental of life by reading (Rabi). The ever lasting stage of satisfaction for mind is to reach Supreme Being before death. The journey of memories can be pleasant with nine affirmations of human faith. We believe that it is time to joggle every conscious to show them that human mind is superior matter not material. The festival of life can be celebrated with wisdom of human faith knowledge once we realize that we all are part of the superior race. It advocates spiritual and moral principles on very high scales for the longest term in human history. It is time to modernize our faith by adopting true faith and educate mankind in accordance with basic principle of life. Our vision is to introduce true human religion by mobilizing communities and faiths around the world to improve people’s lives .Our mission is to strength the bond of humanity (Rabi) by introducing human faith religion. Human faith is a religious of Adam’s monotheistic faith and knows that God (Rab) is the creator and overseer of the universe at all the time and all matters. The waves of fresh air with small particles full of wisdom and oxygen of (Rabi) are in the air it is just matter of time when they touch the brain to change the heart.


    Rabi has many meaning in our language.
    1. Rabi is Book of Human Faith.
    2. Rabi is brain.
    3. Rabi is humanity.
    4. Rabi is our tongue.

    For this article i must say u have nicely enlightened various aspects of our society…But i m having little confusion regarding the name’kanodar’..Some days ago one of my friend asked me why the name of my village is kanodar..I told him the same story of kana patel but one question arose in my mind..If the word ‘kano’ is related to kana patel then what about the remaining word ‘dar’ ..What is significance of that word? As far as gujarati is concerned ‘dar’ means hole..The dwelling place of rodents…But kana patel was not a rodent that he had to use such a suffix in the name of his home place…So i feel v people are missing something regarding nomenclature of kanodar….Let me know what u think about this word ‘dar’.

    Its absolutely correct that we the ‘kanodaris’ can mix ourselves easily with other people regarless things such as cast,religion, location etc…Thats because of our culture and values which we have got from elders like you… I m lucky enough that i m a part of this village…And on behalf of kanodari youth,i assure u that we the today’s generation will do our best for the uplifment of society and village..Shower your blessings on us,that we can get success in that work..

    રૂહી બેટા,

    ગુજરાતી શબ્દની ચર્ચા છે એટલે ગુજરાતીમાં જ કોમેન્ટરૂપે જવાબ આપ્યો છે. શબ્દોના જન્મ અને અર્થપ્રાપ્તિ માટે વ્યુત્પત્તિશાસ્ત્ર (Etymology)નો સહારો લેવો પડે! ‘દર’ના અનેક અર્થો જેવાકે ‘છિદ્ર’, ‘ભાવ (Price)’, ‘સ્થળ’ , ‘બારણું’, ‘ઘર’ વગેરે પૈકી અહીં ‘સ્થળ’ એ જ અર્થ લેવાય. આવાં અંતે ‘દર’ આવતાં ઘણાં ગામોનાં નામ હોય છે, જેમાં આગળ કોઈ વ્યક્તિનું નામ ન પણ હોઈ શકે; જેમ કે ‘મજાદર’. વળી શહેરોનાં નામે પાછળ ‘પુર’ એ ‘નગર’ કે ‘નગરી’ના અર્થમાં આવે છે. પશ્ચિમના દેશોમાં ગામડાઓની પાછળ ville અને શહેરો પાછળ ‘ton’ આવતું હોય છે. દા.ત. Hicksville, Palamerton વગેરે.

    ટૂંકમાં ‘કાણોદર’ નામની તારી પરિકલ્પના (Imagination) અસ્થાને છે. હું માનું છું કે તને આ ખુલાસાથી સંતોષ થઈ ગયો હશે! ન થયો હોય, તો રૂબરૂ મળવાનું થશે ત્યારે આપણે વિગતે ચર્ચા કરીશું. હાલમાં તો ખાસ ભલામણ કે અભ્યાસમાં વિશેષ ધ્યાન આપવાનું રાખજે. આપણે જે કોઈ Goal રાખ્યો હોય તેને પહેલાં સિદ્ધ કરવો રહ્યો.
