વ્હાલા વાંચકો,

મારી બ્લોગ કારકિર્દીનાં બે વર્ષ અને ૧૦૦ આર્ટિકલ પૂરા થવા નિમિત્તે સ્થાનિક ટ્રસ્ટ – એસેન્ટ ફાઉન્ડેશન (આદર્શ લાયબ્રેરી)ના ઉપક્રમે મે-૨૦૦૯માં “Expressing Feelings of Honor and Gratitude” રિપોર્ટ આર્ટિકલ મુજબ સન્માન સમારંભ યોજાયો હતો, ત્યારે વક્તાઓ તરફથી લાગણી સાથેની માગણી થએલી કે મારા કેટલાક અંગ્રેજી આર્ટિકલોનું ગુજરાતી ભાષાંતર પ્રસિદ્ધ થાય. આ અગાઉના ‘માણસનાં કૌટુંબિક દુશ્મનો’ પછી આ બીજો આર્ટિકલ હું પ્રસિદ્ધ કરી રહ્યો છું અને ભવિષ્યે મારા મુડ, તંદુરસ્તી અને સમયને આધીન રહીને આગળ વધતો રહીશ. ધન્યવાદ.

ઘણા સમય પહેલાં ….

“ઘણા સમય પહેલાં, એક રાજા હતો…રાજકુમારી હતી…પરી હતી!”. સૈકાઓથી ડોશીમાઓ નાનાં છોકરાંઓને કહેતી આવતી વાર્તાઓમાં આવી રીતે શરૂઆત થતી રહી છે. પણ, અહીં આપણા ગામ – કાણોદરની દશકાઓ પહેલાંની અને સૈકાઓ જૂની હાથવણાટ કાપડના સંદર્ભમાં વાત છે. હાલમાં પણ, જ્યારે જ્યારે અને જ્યાં જ્યાં આપણા ગામનો પરિચય આપવામાં આવે છે, ત્યારે શરૂમાં જ આ વાક્ય હોય છે કે “ઘણા સમય પહેલાં, કાણોદરને બનાસકાંઠા (ગુજરાત-ભારત) જિલ્લાના માન્ચેસ્ટર તરીકે ઓળખવામાં આવતું હતું.”

મારા ઈન્ટરનેટના સર્ફિંગ દરમિયાન, એક અંગ્રેજી કાવ્ય “ઈન્ડીઅન વિવર્સ” ઓચિંતુ નજરે ચઢ્યું. આ કાવ્ય પોતાના સમયની વિખ્યાત કવયિત્રી સરોજિની નાયડુ, કે જેમેને “ભારતીય બુલબુલ”નું બિરુદ આપવામાં આવ્યું હતું, દ્વારા રચાયેલું હતું. આ કાવ્ય વાંચ્યા પછી તરત જ મારા બાલ્યકાળથી પરિચિત એવા આપણા કાણોદર ગામની ભૂતકાળની યાદો તાજી થઈ. સરોજિની નાયડુ ભારતીય રાષ્ટ્રીય કોંગ્રેસના પ્રમુખપદે રહી ચૂકેલાં હતાં અને મને લાગ્યું કે કોંગ્રેસના મુખ્ય કેન્દ્ર ગુજરાતની મુલાકાત ટાણે તેમણે આપણા ગામની મુલાકાત લીધી હોય અથવા ગામ વિષે તેમણે સાંભળ્યું હોય; જે હોય તે, પણ મારી ધારણા મુજબ કાવ્યના વર્ણનમાં અને આપણા ગામના ધંધાકીય વાતાવરણમાં મને વિશેષ સામ્ય દેખાયું. વળી, મારી આ ધારણા કદાચ ખોટી પણ હોય કેમ કે કવિઓ માનવીઓના જીવાતા જીવન ઉપરથી જ પોતાની કૃતિઓ રચતા હોય છે અને અહીં જોગાનુજોગ પણ હોય!

 

Expressing Feelings of Honor and Gratitude

I am pleased to represent here a Report of my Guest Author – Mr. Karimbhai V. Hada who had rendered his services as an Anchor-man to the local social function held at Kanodar Mahila Mandal Hall and which was presided by Mrs. Ladiben V. Bangalawala, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat. Mr. Karimbhai Hada was honored with “Sanchar Sarthi Award” when he was in service with Telecom Department. He is a man of literature and presently the President of Local Community. He is a devoted man of social services and had glorified the Chair of Secretary of Sarvodaya Kelavani Mandal, a reputed local Trust for Higher Secondary Education.

Now onward, you will read the words of Mr. Karimbhai Hada. At the concluding part of this post, I’ll appear before you just to express my feelings of gratitude in brief. Here, Mr. Karimbhai speaks in his following words:

“Under the banner of Local NGO – Ascent Foundation, running a well-equipped and full fledged Institution known as Adarsh Public Library, had organized a remarkable function attended by a great mass of invited village people on May 10, 2009 to felicitate the three native personalities for their contribution of social welfare, education and global brotherhood through respective fields of their works and activities.
